Deakin University invites high achieving students to apply for a scholarship of up to A$5000 through the Deakin University International Scholarship Program.

This scholarship is offered in the form of a fee reduction and equals an overall reduction of up to A$5000 per year based on an annual full-time enrolment of 8 credit points. Scholarships are available for undergraduate or postgraduate courses, commencing in either Trimester 1, 2 or 3. Conditions apply.

Scholarship value
For those students opting to enrol in courses at:

  • Deakin’s Warrnambool Campus, the scholarships are valued at A$5000 per year
  • Deakin’s Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus or Geelong Waterfront Campus, the scholarships are valued at A$5000 per year
  • Deakin’s Melbourne Burwood Campus, the scholarships are worth A$5000 per year.

Eligibility and selection
Applications will only be accepted from international students who are eligible to study in Australia with a student visa and who have applied to study their first nominated course at Deakin University. Scholarship applicants will need to provide evidence of high achievement in their previous studies. Note that students who are already enrolled in an award course at Deakin University are ineligible to apply for the program.


How to apply
Your scholarship application will be assessed with your course application, so don’t delay. Submit your application as early as possible to increase your chances of being offered a scholarship.

  1. To apply for a DUISP award, you need to download the flyer and fill in the application form (PDF above).
  2. Include certified/notarised evidence of your academic qualifications, your English language proficiency and any other supporting documentation required for your particular course.
  3. You can apply through a Deakin representative, or send your application to the relevant Deakin office, or apply online.
