Cranfield University has an exciting opportunity for a motivated graduate to further develop the e-marketing competence of Kingsfield Computer Products Limited, future proofing the company in the following areas: e-shots, web based promotions, website ranking and web intelligence.

There is an increasing need to leverage the latest developments and communication opportunities provided by e-marketing technologies to stay ahead of the competition. Such technologies provide a financial advantage over the more traditional forms of print and media advertising that are accessible only to large/multinational IT service companies due to their high costs. This need is particularly acute for SME organisations such as Kingsfield, who would benefit the most from such opportunities. Key skills are required in the selection and development of appropriate e-marketing technologies for use within Kingsfield.

A holistic audit of the current marketing practice of Kingsfield is required to establish the detailed scope of this proposed e-marketing project. Current practices will be compared with the opportunities offered by database, email and web portal functionalities. New tools to assist web ranking will also be evaluated for their possible role and value within the e-marketing portfolio for Kingsfield. Due to the aforementioned recent developments in computer and web based technology, the customer data has taken on an increased value. Attempts to capture, mine and analyse such customer data have taken priority in the agendas of not just large organisations but increasingly SME sector companies too. Kingsfield, with the assistance of this project, will be ideally placed to address the e-marketing challenge and progress the development of its business activities.

This project will provide the successful applicant with the experience of working in the specialised domain dealing with e-marketing technologies, such as e-shots, web based promotions, website ranking and web intelligence. It will also provide industrial experience in the area of professional e-marketing and web portal development. The successful applicant will be based within Kingsfield Computer Products Limited in Northampton.
