School of Biosciences Scholarships for International MSc Students, University of Kent, UK

The School of Biosciences is offering ten scholarships for postgraduate Master’s study, each with a value of £2,000, in order to provide financial assistance to well-qualified students paying overseas fees.

This Scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic excellence as assessed by the entry qualifications for each postgraduate programme. Eligible applicants will automatically be considered for this Scholarship and there is no need to make a separate application for this award.

The School of Biosciences reserves the right not to allocate this award to any individual applicant it considers ineligible.

Eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • The student must be an overseas fee payer
  • The student must have applied for one of our Master’s programmes (Biotechnology and Engineering, Cancer Biology, Drug Design, Reproductive Medicine: Science and Ethics, Science, Communication and Society, or MSc by research) before June 1st 2013.
  • The student must meet any conditions of the offer to study, e.g. GPA, degree classification, English Language qualifications
  • The Scholarship is dependent upon continued good standing and will be released in December 2013 to ensure that good academic progress has been achieved
  • The student can hold the School of Biosciences together with other scholarships for which they are eligible (e.g. International Scholarship for Taught Master’s students, Kent Cancer Trust Scholarship). Scholarship holders would be expected to undertake reasonable duties to support the external profile of the School of Biosciences, for instance assisting with Open Days, outreach with the local community, working with the International Development team, and promoting the School of Biosciences in their home countries.
