STRADER ORGAN SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION
AWARDS: Graduate
First Prize: $2,000 and full tuition scholarship
Second Prize: $1,500 and full tuition scholarship
Third Prize: $1,000 and full tuition scholarship
Awards are contingent upon the full-time enrollment of the student at the College-Conservatory of Music during each quarter of the 2011-2012 academic year.
WHO MAY APPLY: All incoming graduate organ applicants to the College-Conservatory of Music for the 2011-2012 academic year are eligible to apply for the Strader Organ Scholarship Competition. Current CCM graduate students who have not won a Strader prize before are also eligible.
HOW TO APPLY: Complete the application for the 2011 Strader Organ Scholarship Competition plus the CCM on-line application form found at https://www.ccmadmissions.uc.edu/grad/Program.cfm
APPLICATION: For In-Person Audition: The last date to audition in Cincinnati is February 19, 2011. All materials must be received prior to this date.
For Taped Audition: All application materials for taped auditions, including the tapes, must be received by February 19, 2011.
PRELIMINARY AUDITION DATES: All regularly scheduled Cincinnati dates as stated in the admission application packet.
TAPES: Where distance or scheduling makes it necessary, a tape may be presented in lieu of a live audition to satisfy preliminary audition requirements. Tape instructions are included in the CCM application handbook. The deadline for receipt of tapes for consideration in the competition is February 19, 2011.
FINALS: Finals will be held in Greater Cincinnati on Saturday, March 5, 2011.
NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS: Preliminary Auditions: Applicants selected for the FINALS will be notified by February 21, 2011
Finals: The winners will be announced at the close of the contest.
JUDGES: All preliminary auditions: Members of the CCM faculty will serve as Judges for the preliminary auditions.
Final competition judges will be announced at a later date to all applicants.
PERFORMANCE Preliminary auditions: Time is at the discretion of the judges.
Finals: For setting stops and playing, a maximum of thirty (30) minutes. At least two hours of practice time on the contest organ will be provided. Additional time on practice organs at CCM will be available.
The College-Conservatory of Music reserves the right to declare no winner if in the opinion of the judges no contestant is qualified. The decision of the judges is final. For application and information, please call or write:
